AMILLIE COSTER
Amillie grew up in Interlaken, MA where she began her desire to cultivate and design gardens at the age of 10.. After earning a BA in Media And Society, she moved to Brooklyn and continued her desire to learn more about plants – taking landscape design courses at New York Botanical Garden, volunteering with their phenology department and volunteering at a community garden in the South Bronx. During this time she also took a Permaculture Design course at UMass Amherst.
Within a decade, the hills called Amillie home to the Berkshires to pursue a Masters degree in landscape architecture. Instead, Amillie managed a vegetable farm, and a native plant nursery.
While she continues to strive towards a Masters degree she is determined to help her community to ecologically restore their land and multiply the amount of food and biodiverse species that smart design can yield.
